The demolition of the old Merrylee Primary School starts on the last week of the summer term June 2009. The kitchen area was the first to be demolished and the rubble piled outside the gym/dinner hall. The machinery makes it's way towards the dinner hall. The first 'bite' is taken from the wall of the dining/gym area. Dinner hall is now completely demolished and the senior classrooms are looking vulnerable. Primary one classroom and our familiar jungle mural 'bites the dust'. The whole building is now demolished, along with the beautiful cherry trees and work now starts on tearing down the much-loved and played on, mature trees at the rear of the school. June 2009
