* u We have written to Colchri Coaches about traffic problems and specifically the movement of bus 374 before and after school and are awaiting their response. We hope to put together a proposal on pedestrian management around the school for the Council to implement to improve our children’s safety. At the suggestion of a parent through our web-site, we are preparing a map of suitable parking areas and pedestrian access to school to ease congestion.

* u Your Parent Council have arranged a prayer/quiet room for pupils to use. Speak to Mrs. Mahindru if you are interested.

* u If you have unwanted or outgrown items of school uniform, please drop them off at the Chest, Heart & Stroke Charity Shop at 103 Clarkston Road, Glasgow, G44 3BL, (Tel: 0141 633 1666). In this way we can support charity, recycle and reduce waste, especially with expensive items like blazers.

* u Your Parent Council have taken action against dog-fouling on the all-weather football pitch. Through Bailie McNally, signs have been sourced and  arrangements are being made with the school to have them erected at appropriate sites around the football field.  Glasgow Community Safety Services have also been advised and will carry out enforcement action.

* u We have approached over 100 companies and organizations, on your behalf, for funding and help for the 'natural play area. View the list.

* u Merrylee Primary are taking part in research to measure the impact of 'Natural Play' on children.

* u[New!]We have signed up to www.easyfundraising.org.uk raise money while you shop on-line. Easyfundraising.org.uk

* u An interesting website that provides advice and support to ensure that the importance of play is recognised by policy makers, planners and the public.
